Child Safety Standards
Last updated 28 October 2026
These Child Safety Standards apply to the Honey dating app (“Honey”, “we”, “us”), operated by Honey. Protecting children is a condition of operating this service. This page explains our rules, how we enforce them and how to report a concern.
Zero Tolerance Policy towards Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)
Honey has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. We prohibit, and will remove and report:
- child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form, including photos, videos, text and links;
- grooming, sexualised contact with, or solicitation of anyone under 18;
- sexualised content that depicts or involves minors;
- sextortion, trafficking or any other exploitation of minors;
- attempts to direct users to off-platform sources of such material.
Accounts that break these rules are permanently banned without warning, the content is removed, and the matter is reported as described below.
Strict Underage Policy: 18+ only
Honey is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. People under 18 may not create an account or use the app. The app does not accept an age below 18 when a profile is created, and “Under 18” is a dedicated report reason. If we learn, or have reason to believe, that an account belongs to a minor, or that an adult is seeking contact with a minor, we suspend the account immediately, investigate and delete it where appropriate. Profiles that appear to show a minor are removed.
Moderation and in-app reporting
Every profile and every chat in Honey has a Report and a Block option:
- In-app reporting system — open a person’s profile, or the menu in your chat with them, and choose Report. Select a reason and submit. Reporting is available at any time.
- Immediate protection — a report also blocks the person for you straight away. Blocking is mutual: neither of you sees the other in the app.
- Evidence is preserved — we keep the report, the reason and the conversation between the two users so moderators can review it, even after the match is hidden.
- Human review — our team reviews reports. Reports are never shown to the person reported. Where a report involves a minor or child sexual abuse content, it is prioritised.
- Enforcement — we remove content, suspend or permanently ban accounts, and escalate to the authorities where required.
You can also report outside the app at the address below.
Cooperation with law enforcement and NCMEC
If we become aware of apparent CSAM or child exploitation on Honey, we will:
- remove the content and ban the account, and preserve relevant data as evidence;
- report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline, as required by applicable law, and to the relevant national authorities or hotlines in the jurisdiction concerned;
- respond to valid legal requests and cooperate with law enforcement investigations, within the law.
We do not notify the person under investigation where doing so could compromise a child’s safety or an investigation.
Report a child safety concern
To report CSAE, CSAM or any other child safety violation, or to contact our child safety point of contact:
Please include the profile name, the approximate time and a description. Do not forward the material itself. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the US you can also report to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org.
